Visiting Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy

In May of 2019, The Glory Truck traveled to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy on Elmwood Road, where approximately fifty students and teachers were introduced to the colorful truck and learned how Operation Fallen Flags helps replace worn-out American flags.

During the ceremony, military veterans associated with The Glory truck demonstrated the proper folding of the flag and explained what each of the thirteen folds represents.

Mr. Marine and the other veterans also talked about the history of the flag, explained the symbolism and meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance, and answered questions from the students.

The principal was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation as well as a properly folded flag – and graciously showed enthusiasm, appreciation, and gratitude to the veterans for their service to our country and their dedication to educating the students on these patriotic lessons.

Several of the veterans have grandkids at the school and were proud and excited to be a part of this event.
